Always a highlight of the design calendar, Maison & Objet is returning to Paris for 2026 and will take place at the Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre from January 15-19. The bi-annual trade show has been bringing the international design community together since its inception in 1994, and prides itself on its ability not only to provide a platform for exciting established and emerging designers under one roof, but also to initiate conversations and meetings between the greatest design minds of today.
Serving as a festival of great design, the five-day event will offer hundreds of designers the opportunity to exhibit at stands and through talks and installations. Each year has a new theme or jumping-off point, and this year it is ‘Past Reveals Future’. With ‘Past Reveals Future’ as the focus, designers have been tasked by Maison & Objet to draw inspiration from the past to create something new and meaningful for the future.
Maison & Objet has always prided itself on capturing the design zeitgeist. Last year, the show's inspiration was ‘Sur/Reality’ – a response to the Surrealist movement marking 100 years since its inception. They intended the theme to inspire artists and designers to interrogate and subvert conventions and realities in order to allow ‘the abnormal and the strange’ to ‘open up the field of discovery.' The 2025 edition featured a collection of uncanny designs that aimed to challenge norms and bring poetry into the world. This year will no doubt be just as successful, with the return of some of the event's most popular exhibitions and some new ones too.
Manufactures of Excellence
A new feature for this edition of the trade show is the Manufacturers of Excellence village, which highlights French artisanal craftsmanship. Positioned at the end of Hall 2, the village will offer a reinterpretation of baroque style with its hallmarks evolving through the lens of contemporary design. The initiative aims to cater directly to Maison & Objet's 25,000-strong interior designer and decorator community, and invites them to rediscover ornamentation as a cultural statement. Around 20 studios have been selected to participate in the Manufacturers of Excellence village, including master glassmakers, marble workers, locksmiths, weavers and many more.
CURATIO returns to Maison & Objet
After a well-received debut at last year's edition, CURATIO, a special installation curated by Thomas Haarmann, returns in January 2026 with an expanded format and 60 international participants. Presented as a village, the installation encourages visitors to experience collectable design as individual works of art outside of their usual context to highlight their artistic value.
The talks programme
The theme of Past Reveals Future will continue not only through the physical exhibition but in a series of talks and events. The talks at the 2026 Maison & Objet event will feature designers, experts and entrepreneurs who will share their vision on hospitality, retail, creativity, and the role of women in design. The conferences, accessible to everyone on the Maison&Objet YouTube channel, allow people to stay connected, exchange ideas, and extend the experience long after the event has finished.
In the City
Designed specifically for professionals, Maison & Objet extends its experience beyond the show floors and into the centre of Paris through its new In the City programme. This unique format offers professionals the chance to meet creators, see products in real-life settings, and fully immerse themselves in the city's creative energy. With over 100 locations, there are ample opportunities to meet some of Paris' most influential creatives in their own spaces.
Harry Nuriev, named Designer of the Year 2026
Also beyond the events and stands, the show selects a Designer of the Year, which has been awarded to the designer and founder of Crosby Studios, Harry Nuriev. Harry's work strives to ‘blur the lines between craftsmanship and contemporary design,’ and the award is a mark of what Maison & Objet dub his ‘unmistakably future-facing’ contribution to the design world.
Beyond the physical show, their online arm MOM (Maison&Objet and More) allows for the continuation of conversations, exchanges and purchases beyond the two annual exhibitions in Paris, with weekly launches of new products.
