Walk along any British high street and you'll likely see the same formula of shops again and again. You'll pass an H&M, a Zara, an ‘American Candy’ shop and several coffee shop chains, each flogging their wares.

For a long while these companies have dominated the landscape of large towns and cities, and you'd have to travel to art-forward destinations like Margate and Rye to get your hands on unique and handmade items. Then came Toast, the fashion and homeware brand that aimed to ‘highlight contemporary craft, created by a global network of skilled craftsmen.’ By creating beautiful furnishings and accessories that are designed to last a lifetime, Toast homeware has become a firm favourite and a staple in our shopping diet. They have a particularly fantastic curated selection of tableware, kitchen accessories and ceramics.

Toast's Head of Home, Judith Harris, describes how they encourage a ‘slow and considered way of life’, adding that ‘our homeware is produced in collaboration with artisans, weavers, and mills from across the globe. We work together to support local communities, preserving craftsmanship and traditional techniques. We have been collaborating with many of these makers for more than a decade to bring our homewares to the market.’

Eight years after CEO Suzie de Rohan Willner took up the reins, the ethos has remained unchanged. Her vision for Toast is one of ‘thoughtfulness’, in both how the company ‘treats people and the planet.’ From pottery to bed linen, cushion covers to tablecloths, their items are timeless, elegant and endlessly covetable. Below, we've rounded up our wishlist of Toast homeware, including some of their new collection items.
