Come Christmastime, decking the halls (and tables, front doors and hearths) in flowers, evergreen branches and leaves is the perfect way to feed into the season's festivity and make one's house an inviting, floral haven. Creating your own Christmas wreaths or garlands, too, is a delightful and rewarding endeavour – the perfect chance to let your imagination bloom. Of course, it can be daunting for a floral novice: where to begin?
In partnership with the Homo Faber guide, flower designer Emily Avenson will guide you in making your own evergreen Christmas garland to line your hearth. Born and raised in California, Emily planted new roots in rural Belgium, becoming both a farmer and florist. Recently, Emily transformed the historic Château de Wodémont near the village of Montroux into both her studio as well as a school for young floral designers. Now, she'll teach you – give her a watch and get crafting!
